The Colombian ID card, also known as the Cédula de Ciudadanía, is issued to Colombian citizens over 18 years old. Here’s how to apply for one:


  • You must be a Colombian citizen.
  • You must be at least 18 years old.

Two Options for Applying:

  1. In Person (Colombia):

    • Visit a registry office (Registraduría) in your Colombian city or town.
    • You can locate your nearest registry office through the National Civil Registry website
  2. Colombian Consulate (Abroad):

    • If you’re outside Colombia, you can apply at a Colombian consulate in your current country of residence.

Required Documents:
